Seattle Met | Digital Editor
After a six-month internship in 2017, I returned to Seattle Met in May 2018 as a full-time editor. Much of my time was devoted to digital tasks or editing interns' work, but I also contributed to the print magazine's front of book, service packages, and dining listings. I pitched and wrote my own blog posts as well, covering an up-and-coming cookie shop and other food news.
The Daily News | Reporter
In the months between my internship at Seattle Met and being recruited back as their digital editor, I covered education and the small towns of Kalama and Castle Rock for TDN, a local daily based out of Longview, Washington. In addition to breaking news, I focused primarily on the Longview and Kelso School Boards, and followed the battle over a new police station in Kalama.
Alaska Beyond | Editorial Intern
From May through August 2016, I worked as an editorial intern at Paradigm Communications Group, where I was responsible for writing short pieces and fact-checking. I had articles published in both Alaska Beyond and Alaska Beyond Horizon Edition, ranging from 200-word event-focused pieces to sidebars to full-page book roundups.
The Reed College Quest| Editor & Writer
In September 2015, I was hired as a copy editor for The Quest and began writing articles and making crosswords. At the end of 2015, I was elected to the editorial board, and acted as copy chief and managing editor until my term ended in December of 2016.  As an editor, I was able to put forward my own ideas and pursue what I was passionate about, like my story on alumni auditors.
The Grail | Writer
In the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters, I penned a column named Miss Lonely Hearts, which tackled love and relationship problems for Reed's independent student magazine.
